For many years coming, Christians have been setting the pace for many positive changes. Christians are not only dating other Christians, but they are also dating outside of their religion, too.  Christians that date people of other faiths have much to learn of other religions, and vice versa.

Thanks to the tolerance of others that is now spreading quickly today, many Christians have found themselves dating others that are not Christians. To be accepting of another’s views while in turn they are accepting of their partner’s views is quite a defeat in itself. In some religions, it is forbidden to date outside of ones religion.  With the freedom that Christians have to choose who they can love, there are many strides that have occurred in the Christian faith. 

Many inter-faith couples often take the time to attend one another’s places of worship. This type of tolerance is not only commendable, but also brings a heightened awareness to worldly cultures, and other religions that are practiced. For a Christian to hold steadfast to their own conviction, all the while accepting another’s religious beliefs truly does speak volumes. The same can be said for the other partner in the relationship that is not a Christian. There is much that can be learned from inter-faith relationships – from the way that one worships and prays, to the customs that are carried out in every day life according to religious beliefs.

There are also those individuals that are Christians who date others outside of the Christian faith, only to have their spouse change to Christianity as well. This is often also well received in the Christian faith, and is easy to made accommodations for in the Christian relationship. Dating outside of one’s religion, though, is not taboo (unless restricted by religious beliefs and customs), which has changed the way that society now looks at religion as whole. For some Christian churches, it means that they have stepped up their Christian ministries, while other Christian churches have accepted people from all religious walks of life. Participating in one another’s customs is a great way to understand how a date’s religious practices come into play in their every day life. This is also beneficial for the Christian and other faith relationships, as it can enhance the understanding of another’s morals while dating, as well as enhance the lines of communication as a whole.

Christian couples will also find that they are friends with couples that are of various religious beliefs. These couples are also improving their overall views of the world, and becoming more tolerant of others without taking notice. To be a good steward of the Christian religion, it is best to accept everyone for who they are, regardless of religion. Christianity does not single out anyone, and therefore, neither should people when they are looking for someone to date outside of their religion.  Accepting the differences in individuals, and encompassing everyone for who they are is the best way that anyone, Christian or not, can find a person to truly love.
